Basic description

Selective weight system from DGS series are self-dependent devices, which are capable to operate with different kinds of packaging machines. They are designed to make dosage of products in hard state, moving as "free fall". "Free fall" means the uniform movement of the product on transport vibrators and empty the dosing buckets with constant speed and capacity.

One main condition, proper dosage to be performed is that the proportion of single piece product to total dose weight shouldn't exceed 1/4. For example, it's not possible to dose 100 gr. product with expected accuracy, if the single pieces of the product are heavier than 25 gr. .
Depending on product type and desired dose range, there are differences in mechanical construction and system software settings. The linear weigh system works flawlessly and with guaranteed accuracy, when used for dosing the products in a dose range it's designed for.  Type of the product, dose range and performance are parameters, which are settled in advance in the contract between both sides. The proportion between three functional parameters  - dose range, system productivity and product type is constructively  assigned and different for every selective weight system.

Operating principle and modifications

dgs_multihead_weigher.jpgDGS series are made in several different modifications, depending on the volume and weight of dosed product and desired system performance. The main differences are in the volume of the weight buckets, the range of weight sensors and the number of dosing lines. The multihead is constructed to compose an equal weight doses from products, which single pieces are with irregular volume and weight.
The system operates on following principle.   After the dose range is set up via control panel, the system begins to apportion on random manner a small pieces of the product in weight buckets. After that it starts to calculate, which combination of single piece products weight make the closest total to setup values. Two to six actively dosing weight buckets can be combined in dose making. When the dose is ready, the next one is being prepared from the other  weight buckets.
The main setup parameters are - assignment, up and down weight boundaries and dose time. These parameters are user controlled and they can't be changed during machine operation. On automatic mode, the system is trying to determine itself the dose time optimum value. This includes a self-learning procedure, which is done when the system is started and product dosing begins. During this period there is a great chance some bad doses to be released. After finishing self-learning sequence, the system enters in normal operating state.
